Students at South Bank Sixth Form combined their talents and creativity to make a fantastic donation to Evelina Children’s Hospital this Christmas. With a combination of donations from students and staff and collecting unwanted gifts, Health Science students put together boxes of gifts worth over £500. In addition, SBU6 Engineering students used their skills with CAD and 3D printers to make a number of toys with moving parts. The toys were taken to the renowned London hospital on 18 December, just in time to brighten the holiday for children visiting or staying over the period.
Ingrid Miller, SBU6 Curriculum Lead for Health Science, said: “It was wonderful to see the students’ generosity and creativity come out in our festive charity work this year. Evelina is a hospital that has helped many staff and students here, and it is lovely that we were able to give a little something back. The students are passionate about the NHS and health system and this shone through in their enthusiastic efforts.”
Evelina London is part of Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital. We are grateful to Evelina and its staff for working with us to provide work placements and expert insights for our Health and Social Care students.
