This qualification forms part of the new T-Level study programme and will ensure students have the knowledge and skills needed to progress into skilled employment or higher level technical training in Laboratory Science.
Success on this course will prepare you for employment in Laboratory Technician roles, for example within the health, pharmaceutical, chemical engineering, energy, education or food tech sectors.
T Level courses also carry UCAS points, enabling progression to a range of science-based degree courses.
What the course will cover
You will study a range of modules to prepare you for working within the science sector. These include topics such as: Ethics, data and managing personal information in the science sector; Health and safety in the science sector; Scientific methodology, equipment, and techniques; Biology; Chemistry; Physics; Further Scientific Concepts and Occupational specialism –Technical: laboratory sciences.
T Levels also include a substantial work placement in a related role (a total of 45 days across the course).
