The Department for Education established the ‘Skills England’ agency to address current and future skills needs across the country. The Skills England report of June 2025 sets out 10 critical skills areas, forming the backbone of the UK economy. Of these, 6 relate directly to SBUSixth’s highly focused curriculum.
On publication of the report, SBUSixth Principal Kishan Pithia said, “It is very pleasing that the curriculum intent we have developed here is reflecting the priority areas for training and the economy. Our provision of courses in Engineering, Science, Business and Health is aimed at equipping young people with the skills to get into long-term careers in these areas. This will ensure their own success, as well as contributing to growth in the UK economy.”
The key priority areas covered by SBUSixth courses are:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Construction
- Financial Services
- Health and Adult Care
- Life Sciences
- Professional and Business Services
If you’re looking for a Sixth Form place in Engineering, Business, Finance, Health or Science, SBUSixth is the destination for ambitious young people. Find out more about joining our courses in 2025 or 2026 from the links below:
