The Annual ‘Lambeth Mayor’s Awards for Schools’ have recognised the achievements of one of our key members of staff. SBU Sixth’s Head of Student Services and Careers, Caron Bernard, was one of 4 staff members from Lambeth’s 89 schools to be shortlisted for the ‘Support Staff Member of the Year’ award.
Caron was presented with a certificate at the awards’ ceremony by Cllr Adrian Garden, Mayor of Lambeth, on 9 July.
SBU Sixth Principal, Kishan Pithia, said: “We are delighted Caron has received this recognition for the wonderful work she does. Just this year, she has helped ensure a high progression rate into university and degree apprenticeships; she’s led an ever-expanding enrichment programme, and she organised a cohort of 60 of our students on our first ever overseas trip, three days spent in Geneva. Caron and her colleagues make a massive impact to the learning and life of our students and we are immensely proud for her to be shortlisted as one of the Borough’s education staff members of the year.”
