SBU Sixth is celebrating a fantastic set of Level 3 outcomes for 2024–25, with strong performance across A-Levels, BTEC Extended Diplomas and the Sixth Form’s first-ever T-Level results.
Headline highlights
- A-Levels: 100% pass rate across all subjects (up 6.7% on last year), with 35.7% of grades at A*–B and 78.6% at A*–C. Mathematics achieved an Excellent ALPS grade 3 (top 25% nationally), with Biology and Physics both securing Good ALPS grade 4.
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diplomas: 100% pass rate (up 2.5% year-on-year). Engineering achieved a 97% achievement rate, 12.4% above the national average. High grades remain a strength, with 36.9% at DDD*–DDD and 80.0% at DDD*–MMM overall. Health achieved 95.1% at DDD*–MMM, while Business and Engineering recorded 75% at DDD*–MMM.
- T-Levels: A superb debut in T-Level Finance with 75% Distinctions and a 100% pass rate (D to M).

The T-Level in Finance pairs classroom learning with substantial industry placement, so students develop the skills, behaviours and experience employers value—evidenced by this year’s 75% Distinction profile and 100% pass rate. It’s a powerful route into banking, insurance, fintech and business services, as well as higher study.
