SBUSixth students on Foundation (Level 2) courses have been celebrating excellent results today (Thursday 20 August).
GCSE success: SBUSixth students doing English and Maths retakes alongside their vocational course have achieved pass rates far above national averages:
- English: GCSE retake grade 4 and above over double the national average
- Maths: GCSE retake grade 4 and above 11% higher than the national average
Included in this are 3 students who improved their GCSE grade from a 3 to a 6 - an exceptional achievement which less than 1% of candidates across the country will manage.
This is excellent news as these students can now progress onto Level 3 qualifications, the next step towards university or a higher apprenticeship.
Vocational courses: high pass rates and progression
- SBUSixth Level 2 achievement rate 90% (2% above national average)
- 51% passed their Level 2 at Distinction* to Merit grades
- Level 2 Health students boasted a 100% achievement rate with 63% at Distinction* to Merit grades
Congratulations to everyone on your hard work and success!
