At a wonderful event yesterday, students, families and staff gathered for the 2026 SBA Trust Student Awards. These annual awards mark and celebrate the achievements of students from both SBUSixth and South Bank University Academy.

The awardees were nominated by Chair's Award nominee Lorettahtheir tutors based on hard work, commitment and accomplishments shown through the academic year. Trophies were presented for each subject, as well as for overall Skills Awards and the prestigious Chair's Awards for the Trust's students of the year.

Ruth Spellman OBE, the Trust's Chair of Governors, who also chaired the judging panel for the awards, said, "The SBA Trust Awards celebrate more than academic excellence. They recognise the qualities that enable students to succeed both in and beyond the classroom, including resilience, leadership, teamwork, communication, determination and the positive contributions these students make to their sixth form community."

The ceremony was hosted by London South Bank University Vice-Chancellor Paul Kett at the LSBU campus in Elephant and Castle. Awards were presented by Kishan Pithia, SBUSixth Principal and Annette Moses, SBUA Principal, alongside Ruth and two of our employer governors: Jo Young (NHS) and Zac Yiallouros (Bank of England).  It was a memorable evening as families and staff joined the winners in celebrating each award.
