V-Levels are new qualifications launching in 2027. They are at an equivalent standard to A Levels and T Levels as a clear third pathway for students aged 16 to 19.  They will offer broad, applied learning in vocational subjects and can be combined with other courses to create flexible programmes that support progression to university, higher training, apprenticeships or employment.

The V-Level Finance and Accounting qualification is a new vocational course that introduces students to how money is managed in businesses and organisations. You will learn about topics such as budgeting, financial records, business finance, and accounting principles, while developing practical skills that are valued by employers and universities. As a Level 3 qualification equivalent in size to one A Level, it can be studied alongside other subjects and can help prepare you for careers in finance, accounting, business, banking, or further study in related areas.

V-Level Finance and Accounting is equivalent to one A-Level. It must be taken alongside:

  • 2 A-Level courses chosen from Business, Economics and Maths; or
  • BTEC Level 3 Business
