The A-Level Business pathway is an exciting opportunity designed at SBUSixth for students who want to understand how businesses operate and succeed in the real world.
Combining A Level Business, A Level Maths and an AAQ in Finance, the course enables you to explore key topics such as marketing, finance, operations, and human resources, while developing mathematical, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. The A-Level Business pathway is ideal for students planning degree-level study and careers in management, entrepreneurship, finance, or marketing.

The pathway is made up of three qualifications, each carrying UCAS points:
- A Level Business explores how organisations operate, covering marketing, finance, and strategy
- AAQ Finance focuses on practical financial knowledge such as budgeting, financial planning, and understanding financial services and decision-making
- A Level Maths develops advanced problem-solving and analytical skills through topics like algebra, calculus, and statistics
Through real-life case studies, you’ll learn how businesses respond to challenges, compete in markets, and grow over time.

The Business A-Level pathway can lead to a wide range of careers in all economic sectors. You could for example go into roles such as marketing, account management, human resources or sales, helping organisations grow and succeed. It also opens doors to careers in finance, banking, retail, and entrepreneurship, as you will cover skills in how to start and run your own business.
Many students choose to continue their studies at university in subjects like Business Management, Marketing or Economics, which can lead to higher-level roles such as business analyst, consultant or director.
