End of term message from Principal David Bell

What an exciting first term here at South Bank UTC.

We welcomed our new cohort of Yr12 students with a jam-packed induction week full of trips, visits, lecturers, employer workshops and professional bodies.

This has continued this term with Ardent Consulting engineers running additional CAD workshops for our Engineering students, St Johns Ambulance Cadets for our Health students and MyBank running budgeting workshops for our business students.

I am thrilled to see how much progress has been made by you, our students, in this short 6-week period. There is already a lot to celebrate. I want to congratulate Hudo, Daniel and Abdulmajid on their successful applications to TFL for work experience – a huge CV boost and an incredible opportunity.

I look forward to hearing about your experiences on the 31st of October, the first day back from the holidays.

Next term we are looking forward to the commissioning of our new virtual reality health suite, a real boost to the already superb facilities here.

I am pleased to say that we are running additional dates for open evenings next term – November 9th at our virtual event and Dec 7th for our end-of-the-year open evening.

We will be issuing food vouchers for students entitled to free school meals the week beginning the 24th of October do check your emails for these.

Enjoy the break, stay safe and come back with the same drive and determination you have this term.

For those with resit English and Maths, exams do use this time to really consolidate all you have learnt over the last 6 weeks. I wish you good luck and look forward to the results day in January.

Best Wishes,

Principal David Bell
